Renewable Energy
Renewable energy technologies provide power through fuels that are essentially inexhaustible, making them excellent alternatives to the world's current dependence on a limited supply of fossil fuels for energy. Renewable energy sources also typically cause little harm to the environment and produce a minimal waste stream, making them even more attractive as alternatives to fossil fuels, which wreck havoc on the environment from their invasive geological extraction to their pollutant-producing combustion. The Idaho Energy Collaborative supports the research and development of the five renewable energy technologies listed below. These clean, safe, affordable energy sources are what the Collaborative advocates for integration into Idaho's future fuel mix, eventually replacing the traditional dirty, dangerous power sources such as coal, gas, and nuclear.
A sustainable energy portfolio awaits Idaho's utilities, policymakers, and citizens--let's embrace it!
