Energy Efficiency and Conservation
Energy consumption, in our homes and workspaces, is what drives the need for energy production in our society. It is clear that producing energy always comes at a cost, for our pocketbooks and for the health of our natural environment (even with renewable energy); so the more we can reduce the need for this energy production, the more money we can save and the healthier the planet we can maintain. Energy conservation is a platform that promotes decreased energy use through changes in operational and behavioral practices in our living spaces. Energy efficiency is a conservation strategy that encompasses routines and technologies that use less energy without sacrificing the integrity of the task/equipment. The Idaho Energy Collaborative supports these energy-saving efforts, and advocates, on both a community and policy level, for their integration into our lifestyles.
